Lotte Mart, Riding the Veganism Wave... Selling Australian Vegan Snack 'DJ&A'
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Lotte Mart announced on the 19th that it will sell the globally renowned Australian natural vegan snack ‘DJ&A,’ amid the rising veganism trend centered on the MZ generation. DJ&A is a pure vegetable snack with over 75% raw material content, made using a low-temperature processing method. It is a representative vegan product from an eco-friendly company certified halal, without using chemical additives.
The products introduced this time include six types: Broccoli Crisp, Mushroom Crisp, Potato Wedge, Potato Sweet Chili, Vegetable Mix, and Mushroom Garlic Chili. Previously, these could only be purchased through overseas direct imports, but now they are available at Lotte Mart.
Earlier, in January last year, Lotte Mart launched ‘Habit Healthy Mayo,’ made with functional soybeans instead of eggs using purely plant-based ingredients. This product is the first private brand (PB) item in the distribution industry to receive vegan certification from the Korea Vegan Certification Institute, and its sales grew by 80% in the first half of this year. The ‘Yorihada Cheongyang Soy Sauce Mayo,’ also made solely from plant-based ingredients, sold over 1,000 units within 15 days of its launch.
