KCDC: "3 Confirmed Cases Among Participants at Minju No Chong Rally... Administrative Order for Diagnostic Testing of Participants on the 3rd" (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Seo So-jeong] The Director of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency announced on the 17th that, following the occurrence of COVID-19 cases among participants of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) Workers' Rally on the 3rd, an administrative order for COVID-19 diagnostic testing has been issued to KCTU officials who attended the rally.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters has been continuously monitoring the occurrence of confirmed cases among rally participants in cooperation with local governments and the KCTU since the workers' rally on the 3rd.
After the index patient was confirmed on the 16th, two additional cases were confirmed on the 17th following testing of colleagues, bringing the total to three confirmed cases so far. Epidemiological investigations on the day confirmed that all three attended the KCTU rally on the 3rd.
Accordingly, the Central Disease Control Headquarters urged all workers' rally participants to cooperate in minimizing further transmission by promptly undergoing diagnostic testing regardless of symptom presence, to prevent and block the spread of COVID-19.

They also added that epidemiological investigations are ongoing to trace the infection routes of the confirmed cases.
