BTS New Song 'Permission to Dance' Ranks 16th on UK Official Singles Chart
[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] The third English song by the group BTS, "Permission to Dance," has entered the UK Official Chart, one of the representative pop charts alongside the US Billboard, at number 16.
According to the Official Chart announcement on the 16th (local time), "Permission to Dance," released on the 9th, ranked 16th in its first week on the latest Official Singles Chart.
"Butter," which was released earlier in May, maintained its position on the chart for the eighth week, ranking 34th, resulting in two BTS songs charting simultaneously.
The Official Chart, compiled and announced weekly by the UK's music ranking provider Official Charts Company, is recognized as an authoritative chart representing the pop market alongside Billboard.
It compiles over 50 charts including albums and singles, among which the singles chart ranks the most popular songs in the UK based on streaming, digital downloads, and physical sales.
BTS has consistently entered the upper ranks of the Official Singles Chart as their fandom and recognition in the pop market have grown.
Their highest positions on the Official Singles Chart for English songs are number 3, achieved by "Dynamite" and "Butter" last year and this year, respectively.
