Before attending the Chungnam Budget Policy Council held at Chungnam Provincial Government Office in Hongseong, Chungnam, Song told reporters, "There should be at least a human courtesy and propriety in expressing one's intentions toward the president who appointed him as the chairman of the Board of Audit and Inspection."
He pointed out, "Considering that he joined the opposition party just 17 days after resigning as chairman of the Board of Audit and Inspection, the political bias at that time is suspected to be a highly political act aimed at becoming an opposition politician," adding, "There should be a reasonable explanation for that to the public."

He continued, "Those who have been at the pinnacle of power institutions requiring a high degree of political independence should regard it as an honor and engage in social service activities, setting an example for juniors working in public office," and added, "If he runs as a presidential candidate, all his past actions will inevitably be suspected as political acts and pre-election campaigning to fulfill his political ambitions."
