National Pension Service Appoints Kwon Moon-il as New Research Director
Appointment of Former Duksung Women's University Professor Kwon Mun-il
[Asia Economy Reporter Jihee Kim] The National Pension Service announced on the 15th that it has appointed Kwon Moon-il, former professor at Duksung Women's University, as the new director of the research institute.
Director Kwon earned his bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in Social Welfare from Seoul National University. After working at the National Pension Research Institute, he served as a professor in the Department of Social Welfare at Duksung Women's University for 18 years starting in 2001. He has served as president of the Korean Association of Social Welfare Policy and the Korean Pension Association, and has been active as a private member of the Social Security Committee and a member of the National Pension System Development Committee, earning recognition as an authority in the pension field encompassing both public and private pensions.

The new director will oversee all research tasks of the National Pension Research Institute, including pension systems, financial projections, fund management, and evaluation. The term of office is three years.
