Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, to Produce Animated Series with Netflix
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] Meghan Markle, wife of British Prince Harry, is producing an animated series in collaboration with the global online streaming service (OTT) company Netflix.
According to major foreign media on the 14th (local time), Archwell Productions, a company established by Prince Harry and his wife, announced that they will present the series "Pearl," which tells the adventure story of a 12-year-old girl.
Meghan explained, "The main character Pearl overcomes everyday challenges like her peers and moves toward self-discovery," adding, "We will introduce a new animated series honoring historically great women."
David Furnish, husband of British singer Elton John, is also participating in the production.
Elton John is a close friend of the Harry couple and performed at their wedding reception.
This contract was finalized after the Harry couple became independent from the royal family last year and moved to California, USA. The release date of the work has not been disclosed.
The animated series is the second content following a documentary about the Invictus Games, a sports event launched by Prince Harry for wounded veterans.
