Lee Jun-seok "Will Watch Closely for Suspicions of Yoon Seok-yeol Killing"
"Former Editorial Writer Donghoon Lee: Official Party Action Requires Disclosure of Facts"
[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Lee Jun-seok, leader of the People Power Party, said regarding Lee Dong-hoon, former editorial writer of Chosun Ilbo, who raised suspicions of a 'plot to kill Yoon Seok-yeol,' "I believe that for the party to officially step forward, the former editorial writer's side needs to disclose the facts."
On the 14th, after visiting Igil-ri village, Dongsong-eup, Cheorwon-gun, Gangwon Province, which suffered flood damage, Lee made these remarks in a meeting with reporters.
Lee said, "From our party's standpoint, the suspicion is very significant," but added, "Compared to that, not many facts have been confirmed yet. Considering the seriousness of the suspicion, I express our determination to always remain vigilant and watch carefully."
Regarding criticism about whether the People Power Party would intervene despite the matter involving former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, who is not affiliated with the party, Lee said, "Given the gravity of the content, if the raised suspicion involves a specific individual discussing collusion with investigative agencies and mentioning favors related to the disciplinary action against the former editorial writer, this is not simply an external candidate suspicion issue," and added, "Since the suspicion is also linked to national investigative agencies, we intend to examine it from that perspective."
