Amid the nationwide surge of the Delta variant virus, three people in the Andong area were confirmed positive the day before. Andong was included in the social distancing pilot zone on June 7, and the ban on private gatherings of five people was fully lifted.
Regarding this, Mayor Kwon emphasized, "To proactively block large-scale spread, large-scale sports events such as national competitions have been reduced to non-face-to-face formats, and unnecessary events have been canceled," adding, "We plan to further strengthen quarantine measures at major tourist sites during the vacation season."
He continued, "Please wear masks at all times and places, and use the safe call system when entering restaurants," urging, "Refrain from visiting other regions as much as possible, and have a safe vacation with well-planned small family units."
