View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Kolon Industries FnC division’s brands ‘Kolon Sports’ and ‘Wak’ are supporting the production of uniforms for the Tokyo Olympic archery and golf national teams.
The archery national team uniforms supported by ‘Kolon Sports’ were inspired by the Taegeukgi (Korean national flag). They utilized white, symbolizing ethnicity, and applied the four trigrams of Geon, Gon, Gam, and Ri to the waistline. The curved sleeves represent the curve of the Taegeuk pattern, expressing flexibility like a bending bow.
Notably, this uniform design focused on enhancing the performance of the archery national team athletes. Considering the archers’ habit of folding the collar during competition, the collar of the top was double-knitted to maintain a soft shape. Additionally, for the top of the uniform, functional fabric with moisture absorption and quick-drying properties was used to provide comfort in the outdoor summer competition climate. The bottoms of the uniform utilized cooling functional materials.

The golf uniforms produced and supported by ‘Wak’ were created through close consultation with the national team. The uniforms reinterpret the four trigrams of Geon, Gon, Gam, and Ri from the Taegeukgi, along with blue, red, and white colors, in a modern style.
Additionally, the uniforms feature lightweight, moisture-absorbing, quick-drying, and cooling functional materials to maintain optimal performance even in Tokyo’s hot and humid climate. Wak supports a total of 38 products, including clothing items such as T-shirts, pants, and training wear worn by athletes during competition and training, as well as accessories like caddy bags, Boston bags, and socks.
