According to Pohang City on the 14th, the 60㎡ (approximately 18 pyeong) city hall information desk, which had not been functioning properly, was remodeled into an unmanned civil service office equipped with convenience facilities such as unmanned civil document issuance machines, bank ATMs, and unmanned parcel lockers.
Using the unmanned civil document issuance machines, residents can obtain about 90 types of civil documents, including resident registration certificates, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Through the bank ATMs, services such as cash deposits and withdrawals and utility bill payments are also available.
Additionally, to enhance convenience for residents who find it difficult to receive parcels during daytime hours, such as dual-income households and single-person households, unmanned parcel lockers have been installed. A photo kiosk has been set up where visitors can take pictures with major local landmarks as background images.
Furthermore, a city administration promotional video monitor and an agricultural and specialty product exhibition hall have been installed to strengthen the functions of promoting city administration and local specialties. An unmanned authentication system has been introduced to ensure safe use at night.
Mayor Kangdeok Lee stated, "The new concept civil service office operating unmanned 24 hours a day is expected to contribute to meeting the increased demand for non-face-to-face civil services during the COVID-19 situation."
