View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-seop] The Shinhan Social Contribution Foundation announced on the 13th that it has donated a total of 40 million KRW to nurture talent in the Gangwon region and improve the welfare of underprivileged youth.
At the Pyeongchang Scholarship Association held at the Pyeongchang County Office, a scholarship award ceremony worth 30 million KRW took place with the attendance of foundation Executive Director Park Young-beom, Shinhan Central Association Director Han Suk-ja, and other officials. Last month, the foundation also donated 5 million KRW each to the Jeongam Scholarship Association and the Jeongseon Scholarship Association to improve educational conditions in the Gangwon region.
Since 2019, the foundation has been conducting the "Scholarship Support Project for Underprivileged Groups" twice a year to reduce educational opportunity gaps. Last year, 209 recipients and 136 recipients in the first half of this year received a total of 416 million KRW in scholarships.
