Hwasun-gun Distributes 'Safety Badges' to Vaccinated Individuals Aged 65 and Over

[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Ji-woon] On the 13th, Gu Chung-gon, the governor of Hwasun County, Jeollanam-do, distributed ‘Vaccine Safety Badges’ to elderly people who completed their COVID-19 vaccinations at the vaccination center.

Governor Gu said, “Thank you for actively participating in vaccination and following quarantine guidelines to overcome COVID-19,” adding, “We distributed the badges to express the pride and respect of the residents who are overcoming this crisis well.”

The county has been distributing badges to elderly people aged 65 and over who have completed at least the first dose since the day before, and the badge can be received only after two weeks have passed since the first dose.

Although it cannot be used as official proof, it was also intended to provide psychological reassurance to others as an ‘indirect proof’ mark that the person has received the COVID-19 vaccination.

The county produced about 20,000 badges and is distributing them through town and township administrative welfare centers and village chiefs.

Any vaccinated resident can receive a certification, sticker, etc., through a smartphone app, vaccination institutions, or by visiting town and township administrative welfare centers.

Governor Gu said, “As the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases exceeds 1,000 daily, the importance of vaccination has grown even more,” and added, “We will speed up vaccination efforts to quickly form herd immunity and restore the daily lives of residents.”

He continued, “Even if you have completed the second dose, please do not be careless and strictly follow quarantine rules such as wearing masks,” and added, “Refrain from visiting other regions, and residents who recently visited the metropolitan area should get tested even if they have no symptoms.”
