NIA Operates 'Visiting Digital Learning Center' for Elderly and Market Vendors
Providing Mobile Digital Education Services for the Elderly, Small Business Owners, and Market Vendors
Together with the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission and Mobile Complaint Center
[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] The National Information Society Agency (NIA) announced on the 13th that it will operate a visiting digital learning center targeting the elderly and market merchants at the Mobile Complaints Office site in cooperation with the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (ACRC).
The Ministry of Science and ICT and NIA operate 1,000 digital learning centers nationwide, providing regional residents with level-specific and customized digital education services.
The visiting digital learning center will be operated alongside the ACRC Mobile Complaints Office's grievance counseling service, starting from Boeun Baetdeul Park in Chungbuk on the 16th, and will continue until December at multi-use facilities and traditional markets.
NIA has established a digital help desk at the ACRC Mobile Complaints Office to provide grievance counseling services and education on how to use non-face-to-face civil complaint services, smartphones, kiosks, and other digital devices for the elderly, small business owners, and market merchants, as well as support for solving digital usage problems arising in daily life.
Additionally, on-site at stores and traditional markets, support for the digital transformation of small business owners and market merchants will be provided in line with changes in the non-face-to-face living environment, including digital device payment methods, online payments, and online marketing.
Moon Yong-sik, Director of NIA, stated, “We will continue to develop cooperative programs with various related organizations so that the digital learning centers can come one step closer to the people. Through the digital learning centers, we will do our best to ensure that all citizens can participate in social and economic activities in the digital world without discrimination or exclusion.”
