[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] The Multicultural Promotion Center at Changwon National University announced on the 12th that it will operate a 'Global Talent Development Education Program' for local multicultural youth.
The selected trainees for this program, which runs until August 7, are youth from multicultural families and those who immigrated mid-way, currently attending four schools including Changwon Sinwol Middle School.
This program aims to support youth with diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds by improving their basic academic skills and school adaptation abilities, helping them discover their talents and develop their abilities to become global talents.
The education focuses on learning Korean to aid understanding of the curriculum in Korean language, social studies, mathematics, and science, using the 'Multicultural Youth Korean Content' textbook produced by the Multicultural Promotion Center.
During this course, participating youth are expected to gain diverse experiences in a short period by listening to academic introductions and career experiences from foreign exchange students on campus and participating in mentorship with Changwon National University students.
