MS in Talks to Acquire Security Firm RiskIQ
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Microsoft (MS) has agreed to acquire the security software company RiskIQ, Bloomberg reported on the 11th (local time).
The news agency cited sources familiar with the deal, stating that an acquisition agreement between the two companies is expected to be announced within days.
The acquisition price is said to exceed $500 million (approximately 573.2 billion KRW) in cash, according to the sources.
The report noted that this move comes amid the global spread of cyberattacks targeting corporations and government agencies, aiming to strengthen information security.
Based in San Francisco, USA, RiskIQ is a cloud security software company that detects security threats such as cyberattacks in advance, with clients including Facebook, BMW, American Express, and the United States Postal Service.
