On the 12th, IT specialist site AppleInsider cited Bloomberg, reporting that the iPad Mini 6, previously anticipated to be released before the year's end, could be launched this fall.
AppleInsider stated, "Mark Gurman revealed in a Bloomberg newsletter that the iPad Mini will undergo the biggest redesign in its 9-year history," adding, "It will have a form similar to the changes seen in the iPad Air."
Regarding product details, it is expected to be largely consistent with leaks from multiple IT tipsters such as Jon Prosser.
First, as the product size increases, the bezel is likely to become thinner. The Japanese website Mac Otakara suggested that the new iPad Mini 6 will expand its display from the existing 7.9 inches to 8.4 inches. Renowned IT analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also predicted that the actual display will be larger than that of the previous iPad Mini 5. Bloomberg estimated the size to be between 8.5 and 9 inches.
The connector is also expected to switch from the Lightning port to USB-C type, and speaker performance is presumed to be significantly improved. The home button's Touch ID is expected to be replaced by a side power button, likely for cost reduction purposes since the module used for Touch ID is an expensive component.
