The 2021 Dubai Dental Equipment Exhibition (AEEDC Dubai 2021) was held from June 29 to July 1 at the Dubai International Exhibition Center.
Daegu Techno Park Biohealth Convergence Center organized a joint pavilion to support local companies' participation, resulting in a total of 304 export consultations worth approximately $6.97 million.
Eight companies, including Lepio and Surgident, participated in this exhibition supported by Daegu City, signing export contracts worth $2.63 million locally, which is double the previous year's $1.37 million.
The Dubai Dental Equipment Exhibition, first held in 1996, is the largest dental medical device exhibition in the Middle East and the second largest in the world, now in its 25th edition. This year, 1,000 companies from 37 countries participated, with over 55,000 visitors and buyers attending.
Among the participating companies, IDUBIOTECH, specializing in implant-related products, received high praise from prominent overseas buyers for its advanced technology and signed on-site contracts worth $850,000 with Middle Eastern companies from Uzbekistan, Armenia, Iraq, and others.
Additionally, Surgident, a Daegu Free Star company, received an OEM request for implant drills from a German implant manufacturer and achieved practical results by signing contracts worth about $200,000 with companies from Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Israel. Another Free Star company, Lepio, received OEM brush production requests from medical distribution companies in the United Arab Emirates and Ukraine, securing contracts worth $550,000 through the exhibition.
Following this Dubai exhibition, Daegu City plans to establish joint pavilions at the Cologne Dental Equipment Exhibition in Germany (September) and the Central Asia Dental Expo in Almaty, Kazakhstan (October) to support marketing efforts for local dental medical device companies to develop overseas markets.
