Gyeongnam Province Launches Aerial Pest Control for Chestnut Trees
July 13-25: Pest Control for Peach Moth Conducted over 8,134ha in 10 Cities and Counties
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 9th that from the 13th to the 25th, aerial pesticide spraying will be conducted over 8,134 hectares of chestnut tree cultivation areas in 10 cities and counties within the province, including Jinju-si.
This aerial spraying will be carried out intensively against the peach fruit moth pest with the support of seven helicopters from the Korea Forest Service.
The pesticides used will comply with the Positive List System (PLS) for pesticide residues, and mainly 13 types of low-toxicity pesticides will be applied.
