Startup Industry Takes Initiative to Solve Developer Shortage
Korea Startup Forum-Jumpit MOU, "Leading the Way to Solve Startup Developer Recruitment Shortage"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] As digital transformation and non-face-to-face activities become more prevalent, making it increasingly difficult to find IT developers across all industries, the startup sector has taken steps to address the developer recruitment shortage.
The Korea Startup Forum, a leading startup organization with over 1,600 member startups and innovative companies, has signed a business agreement (MOU) with SaraminHR, which operates the IT developer specialized recruitment platform 'Jumpit,' to promote developer hiring in startups.
This MOU was established to actively facilitate matching between outstanding startups and IT development talent, and to help startups located in regions where the developer shortage is even more severe than in the metropolitan area to secure development personnel more easily.
According to the agreement, both parties will engage in various activities to resolve the developer recruitment shortage in startups, including ▲opening a startup-specialized recruitment section within Jumpit ▲providing various benefits to Korea Startup Forum member companies to assist in developer hiring ▲supporting regional talent recruitment centered around the Korea Startup Forum Busan Council.
Choi Ji-young, Head of Business Development at Korea Startup Forum, said, "With the acceleration of the digital economy, the demand for digital talent recruitment is increasing, and many startups across industries and regions are struggling to attract talent. We will actively cooperate to discover development talent with the capabilities startups need and to help resolve regional imbalances through this agreement."
Bang Sang-wook, Director at SaraminHR, who oversees the operation of Jumpit, emphasized, "Even large-scale IT companies are facing difficulties in hiring developers, and the developer recruitment shortage in startups is even more severe. Based on our know-how operating Jumpit, a new-concept IT developer specialized recruitment platform that allows searching for talent and job postings based on technology stacks, we will explore various ways to leverage Jumpit's strengths and work with Korea Startup Forum to solve the startup developer recruitment shortage."
