Gochang-gun to Open 'Gusipo and Dongho Beaches' Until the 16th of Next Month

[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeonbuk Gochang-gun (Governor Yu Gisang) announced on the 9th that Gushipo and Dongho Beaches have opened.

The beach operation period is until the 16th of next month, and the usage hours are from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Before the opening, the county partially renovated convenience facilities such as restrooms and parking lots at Gushipo Beach, and the Dongho Beach is currently undergoing a camping site construction project and premium pine forest construction.

In particular, with overseas travel blocked due to COVID-19, it is expected that a large number of vacationers will flock to the beaches again this year.

The county plans to deploy safety management personnel to focus on preventing safety accidents at the beaches and managing quarantine.

This year, a safe call system and temperature stickers will also be introduced, and a fever screening station will be installed at the entrance road to the beach to shorten the time for creating visitor logs through the safe call phone system.

During the peak season, temperature stickers and fever checks will be conducted simultaneously to reduce congestion at the beach entrance and minimize traffic jams at the beach entrance.

Hand sanitizers will be constantly provided at multi-use facilities such as management offices, restrooms, and shower rooms, and disinfection of multi-use facilities and safety equipment/facilities will be carried out more than twice a day.

All workers at the beach will also conduct fever checks more than twice a day, and will strengthen promotion of mask-wearing and social distancing among visitors.

Hong Mansu, Director of the Marine Fisheries Department, said, “Visitors may experience some inconvenience in using the beach, but we ask for active cooperation with quarantine measures such as mandatory mask-wearing for safe and pleasant beach use.”
