Andong-si Receives 'Special Award' in National Local Government Job Competition...Outstanding Regional Customized Job Creation
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Andong City will receive an institutional commendation and a financial support incentive of 55 million KRW as a special award in the Job Target Disclosure System category at the '2021 National Local Government Job Awards' ceremony hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, held at the Daegu Regional Employment and Labor Office on the 9th.
Since 2012, the Ministry of Employment and Labor has been evaluating the performance of local governments nationwide by dividing job targets into two categories: 'Disclosure System' and 'Excellent Projects.'
The Disclosure System category comprehensively evaluates the appropriateness of business plans for local jobs, cooperation systems among job-related organizations, establishment and cooperation of local employment governance, and excellent cases of business performance. Each year, 58 local governments are selected.
Andong City was recognized for its various efforts to create quality jobs, including ▲establishing job policies reflecting local labor market conditions ▲prioritizing job creation policies such as budget increases and enhancing the status of dedicated departments ▲securing the largest-ever budget in the job sector ▲and efforts to stabilize employment for socially vulnerable employment groups.
Mayor Kwon Young-se said, "This award is the result of all employees, local companies, and citizens coming together to secure budgets through various contests and evaluation projects despite difficult financial conditions and continuously discovering job creation projects tailored to local characteristics."
