Regarding joining the People Power Party, Kim said that Yoon told him, "The decision must be made by oneself, and one must take responsibility for that decision." Kim also said that they did not discuss Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung, who is the ruling party's top approval rating holder, at all.
Before the meal, the two exchanged compliments such as "someone I respect regularly" and "I feel I must help somehow." Former Prosecutor General Yoon said of Kim, "He is someone I respect regularly for his humanistic and balanced political sense."

Kim said that although Yoon did not ask him to take a specific position in the camp he will form in the future, he plans to help if there is anything he can assist with.
