[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the morning of the 6th, Jinju Mayor Cho Gyu-il conducted an on-site inspection of the Juk-san Samgeori to Pyeongchon Samgeori area in Jiphyeon-myeon, where roads were flooded and traffic was restricted due to heavy rain.
According to the city, the rain that started on the 5th recorded precipitation of 208mm in Munsan-eup and Jisu-myeon, 197mm in Daegok-myeon, with an average rainfall of 143mm.
The section from Juk-san Samgeori to Pyeongchon Samgeori is part of Local Road No. 1013, managed by Gyeongsangnam-do Province. Expansion work is being carried out sequentially from Daegok, and the section from Juk-san Samgeori to Pyeongchon Samgeori, which has not yet been expanded, was flooded due to this heavy rain.
For driver safety, the city has deployed control personnel at the entrances of Juk-san and Pyeongchon Samgeori from 6:20 a.m. on the 6th to restrict road access, and is redirecting vehicles via Provincial Road No. 14 (Sindang, Jangheung).
