According to Shinsegae Food on the 6th, sales of 'Olban Samgyetang' last month increased by 81% compared to the same period last year. Shinsegae Food analyzed that this increase in sales is due to consumers purchasing health foods in advance to take care of their health, as this summer is expected to bring earlier-than-average heat. In particular, with the resurgence of COVID-19 and the extension of social distancing, demand has increased not only for enjoying health foods easily at home with convenience foods rather than dining out, but also because of the continuous rise in dining-out prices, making it possible to enjoy Samgyetang convenience foods at a reasonable price under 10,000 won, which is considered one of the reasons for its popularity.
Accordingly, Shinsegae Food is targeting the health convenience food market with promotions and live broadcasts to continue the sales popularity of 'Olban Samgyetang' ahead of the peak summer season Chobok. First, until the 28th, a promotion is being held at nationwide E-mart stores selling 'Olban Samgyetang' at a 40% discount for 5,980 won. As the number of consumers purchasing convenience foods through online malls is also increasing recently, 'Olban Samgyetang' will be sold at the same price on SSG.com during the same period.
Also, on the 7th at 8 p.m., a special live broadcast for Chobok titled 'Olban Old-fashioned Chicken vs. Olban Samgyetang' will be held through Naver Shopping Live. Along with comedian Kim Yong-myung, the broadcast will entertainingly introduce how to enjoy three types of 'Olban Old-fashioned Chicken' (Original, Garlic Soy Sauce, Chili) and 'Olban Samgyetang' as health foods at home, and offer benefits such as discount coupons up to 30,000 won during the broadcast.
