Korea Rail Network Authority Awards 37 Billion KRW Contract for Gangneung~Jejin Railway Project Design

View original image[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Korea Rail Network Authority announced on the 5th that it will commission the basic and detailed design for four other construction sections (Sections 3, 5, 7, and 8) of the Gangneung~Jejin railway construction project.
The total length of the four other construction sections is 49.73 km, and the basic and detailed design will be carried out over 18 months. The contract amount is approximately 37 billion KRW, and the opening is scheduled for the end of 2027.
Among the sections of the Gangneung~Jejin railway construction project, four sections including Sections 1, 2, 4, and 9 are currently undergoing basic design. Among these, Sections 1 and 9 are being reviewed as fast track construction sections and are expected to begin construction by the end of this year.
