Namwon-si Installs 'LED Logo Projectors' for Crime Prevention
[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Young-kwon] Jeonbuk Namwon City (Mayor Lee Hwan-joo) announced on the 5th that it installed LED logo projectors at 15 locations in 8 districts including Unbong, Geumdong, Wangjeong, Daegang, and Samae, investing 20 million KRW to create safe and bright streets.
The logo projector is a type of beam projector that projects images onto the ground by displaying safety messages or pictures that the city wants to inform citizens about through LED lighting on image glass.
The city selected locations for the LED logo projectors in alleys mainly used by women, children, and adolescents where there is a risk of crime.
The displayed phrases were selected through consultation between Namwon City Safety and Disaster Division and Namwon Police Station to emphasize "Safe City Namwon" and to reflect the city administration philosophy.
The selected phrases include ▲ Safe Namwon, Happy Citizens ▲ Let's Create a Crime-Free Neighborhood Together ▲ We Will Protect Your Night Path ▲ Feel Safe Going Home, This is a Safe City.
With this installation of logo projectors, the city expects to psychologically and physically block crime opportunities in vulnerable areas such as the old downtown and dark alleys, contributing to citizens' safety and crime prevention through an emotional approach.
A city official said, "We will take the lead in creating 'Happy Citizens, Greater Namwon' through safety-centered administration by installing crime prevention facilities such as LED logo projectors in areas lacking security facilities or crime-vulnerable areas frequented by women and children, alleviating anxiety about nighttime street safety."
