Weekend Box Office Draws Over 700,000 for 3 Consecutive Weeks... 'Balsinjaehan' Performs Well
'Cruella' Rising Trend with 165,523 People Increase
The number of movie theater visitors over the weekend remained in the 700,000 range for the third consecutive week. According to the Korea Film Council's integrated ticketing system on the 5th, the number of visitors to movie theaters last weekend (2nd to 4th) was 757,147. This is 39,894 fewer than the last weekend of the previous month (25th to 27th, 797,041), but it maintained the 700,000 mark.
The film leading this strong performance was "Deadline." It attracted 234,701 viewers across 949 screens (10,856 screenings). With a seat occupancy rate of 13.1%, it ranked first at the box office for the second consecutive week. Its revenue share was 31.0%, and the cumulative number of viewers reached 734,603. "Cruella" gathered 165,523 viewers on 889 screens (6,679 screenings). This is a 24.5% increase (32,552 viewers) compared to the last weekend of the previous month, which had 132,971 viewers. Its seat occupancy rate (15.3%) was the third highest among films securing over 10,000 seats. The cumulative number of viewers is 1,720,172.
"A Quiet Place Part II" attracted 97,046 viewers on 716 screens (5,192 screenings). Although this is a 25.5% decrease (33,218 viewers) from the last weekend of the previous month, which had 130,264 viewers, its ranking rose by one position. The seat occupancy rate was 12.7%, and the cumulative number of viewers reached 781,560. The animation "Luca" gathered 62,402 viewers on 631 screens (3,004 screenings). It recorded the second highest seat occupancy rate (15.4%) among films securing over 10,000 seats, with a cumulative audience of 329,417.
