"Disciplinary Action for Defiance in National Intelligence Service Comment Incident"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol strongly denied reports claiming that he was disciplined by the Ministry of Justice for exerting pressure in the criminal case involving Choi Eun-soon and her daughter in March 2012.
On the 4th, Yoon issued a statement saying, "If a prosecutor is disciplined, the charges must be fully published in the official gazette according to the Prosecutor Disciplinary Act," adding, "The only disciplinary action I received while serving as a public official was on December 30, 2013, and anyone can verify the details of the charges through the online official gazette."
According to the official gazette, Yoon was disciplined at the time for insubordination related to the National Intelligence Service online comment manipulation case and for overreporting assets by 515 million won due to a simple mistake in omitting his spouse's debt during the public official asset declaration.
