According to both camps, the two candidates exchanged opinions on the party's primary election during a lunch meeting that lasted about two hours at a restaurant in Yeouido.
Both sides said, "They agreed that the two have a special responsibility for the regime's reestablishment," and "They shared the view that leadership is needed to solve domestic and international challenges demanded by this era of great transformation without trial and error, while preserving the values and identity of the Democratic Party."
They also explained, "The two expressed serious concerns about the recent controversy over the identity of the party primary planning."
Rep. Kim Min-seok from Chung's camp said, "There is a shared aspiration to develop the values of the democratic government and the fact that both have served as party leader and prime minister," adding, "There was a consensus that the direction of the primary should thoroughly verify policy, identity, and morality."

However, the two candidates drew a line regarding discussions on unification such as the anti-Lee Jae-myung alliance. Rep. Yoon Young-chan from Lee's camp said, "It is not about forming an alliance opposing a specific candidate," and "There has been no discussion about unification issues."
