West Sea Marine Special Rescue Unit Completes Training for 241st New Police Officers

View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] The West Sea Marine Special Rescue Unit of the Central Maritime Special Rescue Corps (Commander Jeong Hong-gwan) announced on the 2nd that it has completed the 241st specialized training for new maritime police officers.
This training was conducted over four weeks from the 7th of last month to the 2nd. Specialized programs such as basic physical training, aerial rescue, rope rescue, and diving rescue were carried out so that newly appointed officers deployed directly to the front lines could immediately perform rescue missions.
As the final part of this training, the West Sea Marine Special Rescue Unit prepared a meaningful time. They aimed to improve basic physical strength and foster camaraderie through a mountain march on Mokpo's Yudalsan.
On the 1st, the new officers climbed Yudalsan on a two-hour course while wearing diving equipment weighing approximately 20 kg.
Among the 86 trainees who completed this training, 20 will be assigned from the 12th to patrol vessels, police substations, and rescue teams under the West Sea Regional Maritime Police Agency to begin their first missions.

Han Won-san, head of the training team at the West Sea Marine Special Rescue Unit, said, “I hope all new officers make good use of the rescue techniques and specialized knowledge learned in the rescue unit in the field,” and added, “Please do your best to respond quickly to maritime accidents and protect the lives of the people.”
