Park Su-hyun, Senior Secretary at the Blue House, "Choi Jae-hyung, First Case of Audit Board Independence Violation"
CBS Radio Kim Jong-dae's News Up Interview... On Yoon Seok-yeol's Declaration, "It's Not Respectful to the Thirsty People"
[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] Park Su-hyun, Senior Secretary for Public Communication at the Blue House, pointed out on the 1st in an interview with CBS Radio's 'Kim Jong-dae's News Up' regarding the resignation of former Board of Audit and Inspection Chairman Choi Jae-hyung, "This is the first precedent of voluntarily giving up a guaranteed term to enter politics."
Park explained, "Because there is a concern that the (Board of Audit and Inspection's) neutrality and independence could be compromised, and since this is the first case, the President expressed concerns."
Park criticized, "We cannot help but doubt whether the actions of former Chairman Choi Jae-hyung during his tenure truly guaranteed neutrality and independence, and whether they were for the people."
Regarding former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl's declaration of political participation, Park said, "It is not proper as a first declaration of candidacy to address the people who have been waiting for a long time with only biased criticism from his limited perspective about the government he was part of."
While humbling himself on the Blue House personnel issues, Park drew a line regarding the responsibility of Senior Secretary for Personnel Affairs Kim Oe-sook.
Park said, "This is not solely the responsibility of the Senior Secretary for Personnel Affairs; we all accept it as a shared responsibility," adding, "I would also like to say that we are deeply and painfully reflecting on the criticisms being made now."
Park added, "If something goes wrong, it immediately affects the President's approval rating and the public holds us politically accountable, doesn't it? There is no reason for us to be negligent or complacent. We take it very seriously."

Meanwhile, regarding Lee Kwang-chul, the Senior Secretary for Civil Affairs who tendered his resignation that day, Park explained, "Although he will face trial, since the Civil Affairs Office is ultimately a related office, even if his duties are not directly involved, he resigned out of concern that there might be a broad impact."
