Yeongdeungpo-gu Offers 10% Discount at Restaurants for Fully Vaccinated Individuals
10% Discount on Restaurant Bills for COVID-19 Vaccinated Individuals at 200 Participating Businesses... 50% Reduction on Public Sports Facility Daily Admission, Monthly Fees, and Tuition, 30% Discount on Youth Camp Lodging Fees... Refunds Available After Booking and Payment on District Website... Exemption from Capacity Limits
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Chae Hyun-il) will provide various incentives such as discounts on regular restaurant prices and reduced fees for public sports facilities to those who have completed COVID-19 vaccination starting July 1.
This follows the “Support Measures for Daily Life Recovery of Vaccinated Individuals” announced by the Central Disease Control Headquarters in May, aiming to increase the COVID-19 vaccination participation rate among residents, establish early herd immunity, restore safe daily life, and revitalize the local economy.
◇ Discount on Regular Restaurant Prices
From July 1, the district will implement an incentive offering a 10% discount on meal costs at local regular restaurants for seniors aged 65 and over who have completed their second dose of the vaccine.
The meal discount benefit for vaccinated individuals is being promoted jointly with the Yeongdeungpo-gu branch of the Korea Foodservice Industry Association (Chairman Park Myung-gyu), with many restaurants in the area voluntarily expressing their willingness to participate, actively recruiting and operating participating restaurants.
As of the end of June, there are about 200 participating restaurants, and the district plans to gradually expand the number of participating businesses through active promotion and support.
Vaccinated individuals wishing to receive the discount can use restaurants displaying discount notices and show the vaccination completion card distributed by Yeongdeungpo-gu to those who have received their second dose at the time of payment to receive a 10% discount.
The list of restaurants offering discounts can be checked on the Yeongdeungpo-gu website, and any other inquiries can be directed to the Yeongdeungpo-gu Office’s Hygiene Division.
◇ Discount on Public Sports Facility Fees
The district will provide fee reduction benefits for public sports facilities in the area to those who have completed COVID-19 vaccination.
The discount benefits are scheduled to continue until September this year, when the vaccination rate is expected to reach 70%, but may change depending on the spread of COVID-19 and vaccination status.
Main details include ▲ 50% reduction on daily admission and monthly subscription fees at Yeongdeungpo 1st and 2nd Sports Centers, Multipurpose Badminton Gymnasium, and Sports Climbing Stadium ▲ 50% discount on program fees for programs composed of vaccinated individuals ▲ exemption of vaccinated individuals from public sports facility capacity restrictions.
The daily admission and monthly subscription fee discounts apply from July to September when using Yeongdeungpo 1st and 2nd Sports Centers, Multipurpose Badminton Gymnasium, and Sports Climbing Stadium, but do not apply to outdoor sports facilities or when facilities are rented by groups or teams.
The program fee discount applies from August to September to relatively intense activity programs such as aquarobics, aerobics, and Zumba dance at Yeongdeungpo 1st and 2nd Sports Centers.
Also, from July 8, when the social distancing system revision plan is implemented, capacity restrictions at public sports facilities will be flexibly applied based on vaccination status and program participant density, with vaccinated individuals exempt from capacity limits.
Vaccinated individuals wishing to use the sports facility benefits must present an ID and either a vaccination certificate or the vaccination completion card issued by the district when applying for programs.
Vaccination certificates can be obtained by applying at health centers and vaccination medical institutions (including vaccination centers), or through Government24, the Vaccination Helper website, or the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency’s COOV mobile app.
For other inquiries, contact the relevant sports facility or the Yeongdeungpo-gu Office’s Culture and Sports Division.
