Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Company That Inserted 'North Korea Satellite Image' in P4G Video Referred for Investigation Last Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it has requested a police investigation into the company that inserted North Korean satellite images into the opening ceremony video of the P4G Seoul Summit held at the end of May.
A Ministry of Foreign Affairs official told reporters on the 1st, "We have already requested an investigation by the police on the 24th of last month regarding the fault of the main planning agency responsible for preparing the summit and the company that inserted the satellite images."
The official explained, "The investigation request was made to the Bangbae Police Station, where the main planning agency is located," and added that the applicable charges are "obstruction of official duties by deception (Criminal Act Article 137)" and "obstruction of business (Criminal Act Article 314)."

Disciplinary actions were also taken against the preparation planning team. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs official stated, "Disciplinary demands were made from two perspectives: the responsibility to manage and supervise the related event without any issues, and the obligation to thoroughly inspect and review the video production," adding, "We are currently considering holding a disciplinary committee to decide on the specific disciplinary measures."
