View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyun-joo] Yoon Ho-jung, floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, who declared his presidential candidacy, saying, "I thought he would present something plausible, but it was an empty vessel making a lot of noise," and added, "I got the impression that he focused more on criticizing the current administration than on future vision or political philosophy."
In an interview with tbs radio's 'Kim Eo-jun's News Factory' on the morning of the 1st, Floor Leader Yoon commented on former Prosecutor General Yoon's attitude during his candidacy announcement, saying, "He was distracted from start to finish. His gaze was unfixed, and his eyes kept blinking."
Regarding the media interview given the previous day by the spouse of former Prosecutor General Yoon, who denied the 'entertainment bar hostess allegation,' he said, "I think this is the first time a candidate's spouse has appeared so quickly," and added, "There must have been many unpleasant stories, but rather, by giving the interview directly, it may have become an opportunity for the entire nation to know. I think this is a disadvantageous judgment."
He also targeted former Board of Audit and Inspection Chairman Choi Jae-hyung, another opposition presidential candidate, saying, "In the case of the Prosecutor General, he was given the responsibility to manage corruption and irregularities in our society, but he failed to fulfill his role and went out to say that this government is corrupt," and added, "The Chairman of the Board of Audit and Inspection, who should handle standards for public officials and their work and abilities, is criticizing the government without fulfilling his role. Isn't that practically a deserter who abandoned his post?"
When asked if the appointment of former Chairman Choi was a failure, he bluntly said, "Of course it was. Choi was not a progressive figure at all."
