Kia Launches 2022 Sorento with Model Year Update Starting at 29.58 Million KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Kia announced on the 1st that it has launched the model year update of the Sorento, 'The 2022 Sorento,' and has begun full-scale sales.
Kia explained that The 2022 Sorento features a new emblem and applies various specifications preferred by its main customer base as standard across trims, securing attractive product competitiveness.
LED interior lights (map lamp, room lamp, luggage lamp), which were previously offered as optional features, are now standard on all trims. The main trims, Noblesse and the top-tier Signature trim, come standard with a premium steering wheel and advanced driver assistance systems such as Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist and Smart Cruise Control (stop & go).
The Signature trim additionally includes navigation-based Smart Cruise Control (highway/motorway safe zones/curves) and Highway Driving Assist functions.
Furthermore, Kia expanded the differentiated design elements of the Sorento’s top-tier Signature trim, called ‘Gravity,’ to diesel engine models, broadening customer choices.
The Sorento Gravity features 20-inch black alloy wheels and voluminous Gravity-exclusive leather seats, with key exterior points finished in black to create a stronger, more robust image.
The 2022 Sorento enhances its product appeal by adding convenience and safety features compared to previous models, while maintaining a reasonable price.
The prices for the 2.5 gasoline model are Trendy at 29,580,000 KRW, Prestige at 32,520,000 KRW, Noblesse at 35,520,000 KRW, Signature at 38,460,000 KRW, and Gravity at 39,440,000 KRW.
The prices for the 2.2 diesel model are Trendy at 30,560,000 KRW, Prestige at 33,510,000 KRW, Noblesse at 36,500,000 KRW, Signature at 39,440,000 KRW, and Gravity at 40,430,000 KRW. (Based on 3.5% individual consumption tax)

A Kia official stated, “The Sorento will continue to lead the market by providing product competitiveness befitting the number one mid-size SUV brand. The THE 2022 Sorento Hybrid, which offers excellent fuel efficiency and outstanding interior quietness, delivering high satisfaction, is scheduled for additional release in July.”
