Assemblyman Kim Jeong-ho Secures 1.4 Billion KRW Special Grant for Environmental Maintenance in Gimhae
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Kim Jeong-ho, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, announced on the 30th that he secured 1.4 billion KRW in special grants for the 'Jangyu Daejangcheon Shopping Street Landscape Maintenance' and 'Jangyu Sinan~Yulha District 2 Road Maintenance' projects in Gimhae City.
The area around Jangyu Daecheongcheon Riverside Park is a district with over 200 clustered shops, but it has been continuously raising complaints due to insufficient nighttime lighting, narrow pedestrian pathways, and lack of resting spaces.
Through the maintenance project, the aging bridge's upper structure will be renovated, lighting objects and resting spaces with specialized lighting will be installed, and a 1.2 km walking trail will be created. Out of the total project cost of 1.3 billion KRW, 800 million KRW has been secured.
By refurbishing the Daecheongcheon riverside shopping street, which boasts a beautiful landscape, into a local landmark, it is expected to revitalize the stagnant local commercial area and create a safe pedestrian environment.
The drainage improvement project aims to resolve the habitual drainage problems in Yulha, which connects the Jangyu new town area, with a total project cost of 1 billion KRW, of which 600 million KRW has been secured.
As the population is rapidly increasing due to the completion of Yulha District 2 in the area, opinions have been raised that prompt implementation of the drainage improvement project is necessary to create a safe road environment.
Within this year, a 3 km-long stormwater pipe will be newly installed and expanded, and road repaving will be carried out to alleviate inconvenience for citizens' passage.
