Assemblyman Lee Hyung-seok Secures 2.1 Billion KRW in Special Local Tax from Ministry of the Interior and Safety
Expansion Project of Gwangju Buk-gu Geon-guk-dong Administrative Welfare Center Gains Momentum
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Rep. Lee Hyung-seok (Democratic Party of Korea, Gwangju Buk-gu Eul) announced on the 30th that he secured 2.1 billion KRW in special grants from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety for four projects, including the expansion project budget for the Geon-gukdong Administrative Welfare Center building.
The special grants secured from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety this time are ▲800 million KRW for the Geon-gukdong Administrative Welfare Center building expansion project ▲500 million KRW for the repair work of the sewage culvert around Bonchon Industrial Complex ▲300 million KRW for the installation of a ground fountain in the Jungoe Park Cultural Belt area ▲500 million KRW for the repair work of Sinchon Bridge in Buk-gu.
With the 2.1 billion KRW special grants secured from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Rep. Lee has achieved a total of 4.3 billion KRW in regional development budgets through special grants for seven projects since entering the 21st National Assembly in May last year.
He secured the largest amount of special grants among the National Assembly members from the Gwangju area.
The expansion of the Geon-gukdong Administrative Welfare Center building in Buk-gu has been a long-standing wish of the residents. The Buk-gu Geon-gukdong Administrative Welfare Center, built in 1988, has an old building and limited space, causing inconvenience to the residents using it.
Securing the special grants has given momentum to the building expansion project, and it has also become possible to efficiently rearrange space to support resident autonomy programs.
The sewage culvert around the Bonchon Industrial Complex in Buk-gu is a deteriorated facility over 30 years old, severely damaged, causing concerns such as road subsidence and inconveniences to residents' daily lives.
With the special grants secured this time, it is expected that residents' inconveniences will be resolved through structural function improvement and durability enhancement of the facility, preventing road subsidence and expanding safety.
The installation project of the ground fountain in the Jungoe Park Cultural Belt area can also be promoted, which is expected to improve the quality of life for residents.
Sinchon Bridge in Buk-gu is an old and dangerous BOX bridge, and securing the repair budget has made it possible to ensure the safety of residents crossing Sinchon Bridge.
