CJ Employees Participate in 'Hands-On' Volunteer Activities
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] CJ announced on the 30th that 2,500 employees recently participated in the ‘Hands-On’ volunteer activity for underprivileged children nationwide.
The ‘Hands-On’ volunteer activity, meaning ‘putting sincerity into both hands,’ is a participatory social contribution activity where volunteers directly make and deliver donated items. Amid the shrinking corporate volunteer activities due to COVID-19 and other factors, CJ is expanding the ‘Hands-On’ volunteer activities every year to spread a culture of sharing without restrictions on time and place.
CJ employees used ‘DIY (Do-It-Yourself) kits’ to produce a total of 2,500 daily necessities, including ▲900 braille posters for visually impaired children ▲700 handkerchief and bib sets for children waiting for adoption ▲700 neck pillows and bib sets for premature babies (ireundungi) ▲200 upcycled eco-bags for children in study rooms.
The daily necessities will be delivered to study rooms and single mother facilities nationwide early next month. The kits used in the volunteer activities were purchased through various social welfare organizations, and the proceeds were used as support funds for living and medical expenses for underprivileged groups.
