[Photo] Seongbuk-gu Holds 77th Anniversary Memorial Ceremony for Manhae Han Yong-un
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) held a memorial event at Simwoojang in Seongbuk-dong to commemorate the 77th anniversary of the passing of Manhae Han Yong-un.
The '77th Memorial Ceremony for Manhae Han Yong-un' was held from 10 a.m. on the 29th at Simwoojang, the old residence of Manhae Han Yong-un (24 Seongbuk-ro 29-gil, Seongbuk-gu). The event was jointly hosted and organized by the Seongbuk Cultural Center, the Seonhakwon Foundation, and Jeongbeopsa Temple, with support from Seongbuk-gu Office, the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, and the Manhae Han Yong-un Memorial Project Local Government Administrative Council.

Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, stated, "There is a saying that even though all eight provinces of Joseon fell under Japanese rule, Simwoojang alone remained purely Korean territory. Simwoojang is a special place imbued with Manhae’s life and spirit." He added, "We will share Manhae’s spirit and achievements with the public and actively utilize them as content for local cultural projects."
