Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency Conducts Terror Preparedness Training and Joint Drills Using Drones
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Training and joint exercises to prepare for new types of terrorism using drones were conducted on the 29th.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced that on this day, at Jamsil Sports Complex in Songpa-gu, Seoul, six public, private, and military organizations including the Capital Defense Command, fire authorities, and Hansei University participated in the "On-site Commander Training and Joint Exercises for Strengthening Drone Terrorism Response Capabilities." The event was held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
During this event, specialized training on drones was provided to police station security chiefs who take initial actions in crisis situations such as terrorism or disasters. Additionally, joint exercises simulating actual drone terrorism scenarios were conducted to establish an organic cooperation system among related organizations and to promote mutual goodwill.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency plans to actively reflect the matters discussed during the training and joint exercises in security policies, maintain close cooperation with related organizations, and mutually share information on various crimes including terrorism. They also intend to respond jointly and actively if terrorism or other crisis situations occur.
