Temporary Livelihood Support Payment to 1,052 Households in Sancheong-gun
500,000 KRW per household ... Total scale of 420 million KRW
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 28th that it will provide temporary livelihood support funds worth 420 million KRW to 1,052 households.
The temporary livelihood support project is aimed at low-income households whose income has decreased due to COVID-19 but who have not benefited from existing welfare systems or other COVID-19 damage support projects, providing 500,000 KRW per household.
The recipients are households whose income this year has decreased compared to 2019-2020, have not received other damage support, have a standard median income of 75% or less, and assets of 300 million KRW or less.
The support funds will be paid in a lump sum to the application account. For small-scale farmers and fishermen eligible for the voucher (300,000 KRW), the difference of 200,000 KRW, which is the difference from the 500,000 KRW, will be paid.
Sancheong-gun has actively undertaken administrative measures such as relaxing application criteria and simplifying supporting documents since May to select recipients for this temporary livelihood support. As a result, 1,433 households applied, exceeding the initially planned 1,000 households. After review, the county selected a final 1,052 households.

Lee Jae-geun, mayor of Sancheong-gun, said, “Given the characteristics of our county with many small-scale farmers, we were able to provide additional support by paying the voucher difference. We will continue to strive to build a social safety net by actively identifying those in disaster situations, such as welfare blind spots.”
