National Institute of Infectious Diseases Collaborates with Statens Serum Institut of Denmark for Vaccine Development
[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] On the 28th, the National Institute of Infectious Diseases at the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency announced that it signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with the Statens Serum Institut (SSI) of Denmark.
The Statens Serum Institut, a national research institute under the Danish Ministry of Health, was established in 1902 and conducts research for disease control and public health, including infectious disease response and vaccine development.
This LOI signing is a follow-up measure to the Korea-Denmark Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in the health sector signed last March. It was signed digitally between the two parties.
The Letter of Intent was made to expand and strengthen information exchange and cooperation on vaccine development and production between Korea and Denmark. Through this, they plan to share vaccine-related information to ensure the development and supply of safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines in the future.
