[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Ju-cheol In] On the 25th, a fire broke out at a waste disposal company in Nakdong-myeon, Sangju, Gyeongbuk, and was extinguished after about 12 hours.
According to the Sangju Fire Station, the fire started around 4:48 a.m. and was completely extinguished by 4:15 p.m.
There were no casualties from the fire, but one waste storage warehouse was completely burned down, and about 80 tons of waste were lost.
The fire authorities deployed 24 firefighting vehicles and 171 personnel, managing to control the major flames around 7 a.m.
However, due to the large amount of flammable materials on site, they faced difficulties in completely extinguishing the fire as they had to dig out the waste with heavy equipment and put out the fire piece by piece.
