With this agreement, the corporation plans to establish the ‘IIAC Big Data·AI Academy Curriculum’ at the Talent Development Institute and produce more than 30 D.N.A (Data, Network, AI) experts by 2022.
Based on this, the corporation aims to utilize big data to streamline airport operations, establish global AI service standards specialized for airports, and develop new high value-added business models unique to ‘Incheon Airport-type’ future projects.
They will jointly conduct airport-specialized research and development to integrate future core technologies such as AI, robotics, and biometric authentication into the airport, and lead the paradigm of future airports by proactively implementing smart airports.
To strengthen future airport capabilities in the post-COVID-19 era, the corporation launched an internal research organization called ‘Air-Lab’ last April and is actively conducting research activities in innovative future airport fields such as △ future air transportation △ big data △ cultural arts design.
Kim Kyung-wook, President of Incheon International Airport Corporation, said, “Incheon Airport is establishing a new smart airport strategy for the new normal era and promoting D.N.A-based airport operations such as digital quarantine, robotics, and contactless smart passes. Through collaboration with KAIST, which leads the big data and AI fields, we will nurture future talents and lead digital innovation in airport operations by proactively introducing new technologies to the airport.”
