464 Youth Interns Begin On-Site Training for Urban Regeneration New Deal
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Jiwon] Over 400 youth interns participating in the Urban Regeneration New Deal are starting their activities at urban regeneration project sites nationwide.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced that 464 youth interns, who completed basic competency training over the past two weeks, held a launch ceremony on the 25th and will begin on-site training at 261 Urban Regeneration Support Centers across the country starting from the 28th.
The youth internship program is a work experience training program that selects young people interested in urban regeneration and nurtures them into talents equipped with both theoretical and practical skills. This year marks its third year.
The youth internship runs for a total of six months. After receiving two weeks of basic competency training, the youth interns are assigned to centers in various regions nationwide for the remaining 5.5 months to undergo on-site training.
During the on-site training, interns will engage in activities such as supporting local communities, conducting urban regeneration data research, project planning, and promotion in connection with projects carried out at their assigned centers.
Mentoring by experts will also be provided biweekly for a total of 10 sessions, allowing interns to set and complete tasks related to urban regeneration projects in their respective regions, gaining self-directed problem-solving experience.
