Gyeongnam Province, Final Push for Landslide Recovery Efforts
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 24th that it is making final efforts to complete the restoration work of landslide damage areas before the full-scale rainy season.
Last year, 231 forest damage sites occurred due to record rainfall and typhoons.
Accordingly, since the end of last year, 30 billion won has been invested to complete the restoration before the rainy season.
At the Gyeongsangnam-do Forest Environment Research Institute, preventive projects for landslide prevention such as check dams (51 sites), stream conservation (42 km), and mountain slope protection (20 hectares) have been promoted, with completion scheduled for the end of June.
