[Muan＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Songgye Solbaram Forest Trail in Songseok-ri, Haeje-myeon, Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) has been finally selected in the 2021 Jeonnam Forest Trails You Want to Walk contest hosted by Jeollanam-do.
According to the county on the 24th, they applied for the Jeonnam Forest Trails You Want to Walk in April under the theme "Healing Forest Trail Walking Along the Waterway," and the evaluation was conducted through expert review and SNS resident participation surveys.
With this forest trail selection, Muan-gun secured an excellence award along with a prize of 550,000 KRW and an incentive of 120 million KRW.
The Haeje Songgye Solbaram Forest Trail, a 1 km-long forest of Korean pine trees harmonized with the sea, is attracting attention as a family camping and car camping site. The trail has a gentle slope and offers views of both sunrise and sunset simultaneously. Since COVID-19, visitors have surged, but it is currently closed to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
The county purchased land and carried out a superior coastal forest management project to cultivate the Korean pine forest, which had been managed as a village forest with some limitations. While establishing plans to turn the Korean pine forest into a new tourist resource, they achieved the great success of being selected for the Jeonnam Forest Trails You Want to Walk.
Governor Kim San said, "I hope the Songgye Korean pine forest Solbaram Trail will become a premium forest trail where residents exhausted by COVID-19 can rest," and added, "In the post-COVID era, we will do our best to make the Solbaram Trail a nationwide healing spot where various experiential activities are possible along with nearby Hwangto Gaetbeol Land, Songgye Fishing Village, and Gaetbeol Provincial Park."
