Minister Kwon Chil-seung: "Supporting Smart Service Implementation in 1,350 Companies by 2025"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups will implement a smart service support project to assist the digital transformation of a total of 1,350 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by 2025.
On the 24th, Minister Kwon Chil-seung of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups will visit HMC Networks located in Gangnam, Seoul, and hold a meeting with business owners who have introduced smart service solutions.
The smart service support project is aimed at supporting the digital transformation of the service sector of SMEs and was newly launched last year targeting 150 companies.
HMC Networks, an outstanding company in the introduction of the service, converted the patient (guardian)-caregiver matching process, which was previously conducted offline (wired), into an online method to enable rapid matching. It is expected to contribute not only to increased sales and job creation but also to alleviating the inconvenience of many patients requiring care.
HMC Networks plans to enhance its services by integrating AI technologies based on accumulated patient information data on its platform and has attracted a total investment of 7.5 billion KRW in recognition of its growth potential.
At the meeting, business owners requested the expansion of the scale of smart service support and strengthening of linked support to enhance innovation support for service SMEs.
In response, Minister Kwon stated, "Starting next year, we will establish advanced tasks and increase the number of supported companies, striving to support the establishment of smart services for a total of 1,350 companies by 2025 to promote the spread of smart services."
Meanwhile, a survey of the 150 companies supported by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups last year showed that benefits from the introduction of smart services included improved work efficiency such as time reduction (70.7%), cost savings (34.7%), and defect reduction (15.3%).
