'2022 Asia Air Rifle Championships' Confirmed to be Hosted in Daegu
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Ju Cheol-in] Daegu City announced on the 22nd that it has been selected to host the '2022 Asia Air Rifle Championships' organized by the Asian Shooting Confederation (ASC).
This competition was contested among three cities bidding to host: Daegu City, Almaty in Kazakhstan, and Jakarta in Indonesia.
Daegu City received favorable evaluations at the ASC Executive Committee online meeting held on the 5th, emphasizing its extensive experience in hosting international competitions, infrastructure, and the process of overcoming the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The competition is scheduled to be held around September to October next year, with about 500 athletes and officials participating from 25 Asian countries.
