View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] On the 21st, Kwon Chil-seung, Minister of SMEs and Startups, met with the Mayor of Daejeon and local representative leaders at the Daejeon Chamber of Commerce and Industry to express his bittersweet feelings about the relocation of the Sejong City office.
The farewell event was held at the request of Minister Kwon, ahead of the office relocation scheduled for next month. It was attended by Heo Tae-jung, Mayor of Daejeon, Kwon Jung-soon, Chairperson of the Daejeon City Council, and heads of small business and SME organizations based in Daejeon.
Minister Kwon expressed his gratitude, saying, "There was a lot of support from the citizens of Daejeon when the Small and Medium Business Administration was promoted to the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and we are well aware that the Ministry was born in Daejeon."
He continued, "Through the relocation of the office to Sejong City, we will become a Ministry of SMEs and Startups that meets the expectations of small business owners and the SME sector through active communication and cooperation with related ministries."
In response, Heo Tae-jung, Mayor of Daejeon, said, "I hope that the developmental cooperative relationship between Daejeon City and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups will continue."

After bidding farewell to Daejeon city officials, Minister Kwon planted a pine tree, the city tree of Daejeon, as a commemorative gesture to express gratitude for the love and support from the citizens of Daejeon towards the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
